South Park has students and staff with severe allergies. Fish, nuts and kiwis are the greatest concern. For some students, these foods cause an anaphylaxis reaction which could result in death. We also have a number of families who are gluten intolerant. When preparing lunches, we strongly encourage the use of alternatives to peanut or nut butters, and we recommend not sending raw nuts, fish or kiwi in lunches. Please consider severe anaphylaxis allergies when sending in treats to share for birthdays and discuss this with your classroom teacher ahead of time. We also ask that you do not include nuts, fish or kiwi in other school events such as bake sales.
